In my creative process I recognize that everything has input – from the client to the surrounding environment, to the material with
which I work to name a few. Balancing all of those voices while applying my own inspiration and experience results in a product
with a unique story.
This is the essence of the Counter Balance.
Counter Balance owner Jonathan Ebbs has a Red Seal Ticket in Residential Construction and over 10 years of experience in the field. He has a particular interest in combining his technical skills with a creativity inspired by years of building with salvaged wood on the North West Coast of Canada.
Showcase Of My Past Projects
Jonathan built a beautiful deck at my cottage in Muskoka. There was an old stone patio which I was sad to cover up but after the deck went up I have no regrets! Jonathan came up with a great design for the new deck and incorporated it with an older existing deck so that it all looks like one new addition.
Jonathan designed a beautiful, well constructed deck and was always very professional and reliable. I enjoyed getting to know him and will definitely hire him again for any future construction jobs I may have.
In 2014 while re-designing our showroom, we set out to find a carpenter who could build multi-functional pieces that not only fit well in our space but seamlessly tie into the look we wanted in our showroom. Jonathan was able to capture our vision and create countertops and various shelving that were creatively designed, functional and looked great! The consistent design through the various pieces in our showroom showcases our products, brand and décor beautifully. Jonathan was easy to work with, flexible and very understanding when it came to our design needs.
We really appreciate all the time and effort Jonathan put into fine tuning our designs and delivering great handcrafted pieces that work perfectly for us.
